For beginners and above, an introduction to the principles of ballet.

Have you ever wondered what it takes to make a living as an actor in film and television? Get an insider's perspective on current trends in the world of on-screen acting and learn scene study and audition tips that you can use to help you "book the room". Participants should be prepared to work on improv and cold reading skills. 

ABOUT MARTY KIMBLE

Teacher Marty Kimble is a stage and film actor and who was raised in the Temecula Valley and has been involved with community theater for over 25 years. In late 2013, he was called in to do stunt work on an independent film, Western Religion, which sparked a newfound interest in on-screen acting. Over the next 2 years appeared on such shows as Parks and Recreation, Castle, CSI: Cyber, Kirby Buckets and The Comedy Get Down. He continues to perform in live theater and recently performed in Jekyll & Hyde and Legally Blonde the Musical.

In 2016, Marty left his corporate career to work full time in the entertainment industry. He has studied under top acting coaches through the SAG Conservatory, Lifebook Acting Academy and currently studies under acclaimed acting coach Joseph Pearlman.

 

In 2017 Marty joined the cast of Rhett & Link's Buddy System as a photo double and stand-in for comedic actor, Link Neal. He has been blessed to meet and work with some of the most successful men and women in the industry and is happy to pay their generosity forward to the next generation of aspiring actors.

ABOUT RAY LIMON

Three-time Craig Noel Award Nominee for Direction and Choreography, Ray has directed over 300 productions across the country, including South Pacific starring John Raitt, Christmas with Carol Channing at the Aqua Caliente Casino in Palm Desert, and Liza Minelli's Men Alive Concert at the Orange County Performing Arts Center.

 

He has staged countless shows and special events for Disneyland and Walt Disney World including, Walt Disney World's Fourth of July Spactacular, the internationally televised Super Bowl XXI Halftime show, and the opening to the Tournament of Roses Parade.

 

Ray has been awarded the 2013 and 2016 San Diego Bravo Awards for Outstanding  Director and Choreographer. He was awarded six Stage Scene LA Awards, two Los Angeles Robby Awards, the Desert Theatre League Award, three Inland Valley Theatre League Awards, and two London Arms Pub and Playhouse Awards.

 

Ray staged productions for ten seasons for the Moonlight Amphitheater, seven seasons for the Poway Center for the Performing Arts, thirteen seasons for Broadway in the Park, and for over twenty years for the Welk Resorts Theatre.

ABOUT MATT CARNEY

Matt has been performing professionally for over 15 years while also serving as a non-profit administrator for a variety of organizations just to keep things interesting. A highlight of his career includes performing for his grandmother starting at the age of 3, who lovingly called him her Court Jester. Currently he is the Executive Director of San Diego Dance Theater, teaches on faculty at Coronado School of the Arts, and is on the Steering Committee for the San Diego Regional Arts and Culture Coalition.  This is his seventh season with San Diego Ballet.
